We dealt with him a while back and were very disapointed.
John is a very experienced agent and treats all of his clients fairly. I respect a person who is able to juggle and prioritize both work and family commitments. He always answered my questions and calls promptly and I do recommend him to my family and friends.
John Maxwell managed to sell our house (for under asking price in a hot market in the GTA when most homes were going for $25000 or more OVER asking). He advertised the open house (which he chose to hold on a long weekend) only in the local paper. He didn't even add the open house info to the MLS listing. Needless to say, nobody showed up. He was unable to find a house for us to purchase. We're looking at homelessness and losing our pets because he couldn't do his job. There was lots out there and we looked at most of it but I had to call him to tell him I wanted to see it and by the time the general public has access to the listings realtors have already had them for about a day. That means most f what we saw was already conditionally sold by the time we got there. One house that had sold for $425000 until the financing fell through so we decided to make an offer after that. We were able and willing to offer very close to the 425 mark but Mr. Maxwell advised us to only offer 395. When he heard there was another offer he suggested 405. Needless to say we didn't get it. If I found out my worst enemy was using John as a realtor I would warn even them against it. Save yourself the anxiety and potential for homelessness, and pick a different realtor. - Natalie
