At our first scheduled meeting, Julie did not know our names. After looking at houses for 4 hours the first week, Julie left me two voice mails. In one of them, she called my husband Shawn, and in the other Dan (his name is Chad). Julie avoided the name problem by referring to my husband (a 35-yo Air Force officer) whenever she was showing houses as 'kiddo.' The third time we visited the home we eventually purchased, Julie had to call my husband for directions - she was lost. Within one week of making our offer, we started receiving threatening phone calls from Julie that we were 'in danger of breaching our contract,' though we had provided all documents and payments requested by the lender. When I called Julie to stop the threats, she yelled at me for 10 minutes, telling me that when it came closing time and we were unable to get the house we wanted, we should "just look in the mirror and you'll see whose fault it is." She promised never to contact me again. From that point forward, Julie either ignored or yelled at us after every request. We never received a copy of the homeowner's documents prior to closing (and still don't have a copy 2 weeks after moving in). Julie did not attend the house inspection, though she told my husband "that she never misses one." We were first time home buyers, with the additional paperwork of a VA loan. It became ultimately clear that neither our agent or the lender she recommended was familiar with VA loans, and they created much more work and hassle than was necessary. Through the whole process, Julie outright lied to us or refused to provide information we requested. We would never recommend this agent, or her lender (Shari Bustos).
