M. Lariviere was the agent for the sellers of the house we bought. After his clients accepted our offer, he said they'd be willing to pay us to move the closing date forward. We agreed, and he was then unresponsive about the money promised, both before and after the close date. Once closed, we persisted in contacting him about the deal, and he finally told us we should have had it in writing. A verbal agreement is binding, but now we have to pursue him in small claims court to get our money. Poor communication, poor attitude, no apology, and no remorse. Perhaps it was an honest miscommunication, but own up to it. Now we're short on cashflow when moving into a new house.
