Negotiation skills: If you are shopping in Western NC and especially in Rutherford County ASK FOR SHERRY. We had 2 prior realtors and the first one was in the Million Dollar club in PA, as at first we thought we would try to move closer to my aging parents, but we found that the move would be too difficult and the house the realtor set us up for was a loser they were trying to dump on us and hoping we did not inspect it..long story. A very shrewd uncaring realtor up there! We also had another realtor that had no idea about the home we purchased with Sherry and told us it was bank owned and too overpriced,,none of which was true. He could not bother to take the time to show it and every home we liked...he drug us to loser houses instead of bothering to make an appointment ahead of time.He then told us there just were not enough homes on the market and we never heard from him again! Odd..as Sherry had plenty of homes to show us and her agency sent us a list of 5..one of which we put a contract on ,,,but sadly it had a problem at inspection and we could not overcome it. Sherry stepped in and we immediately liked her warm Southern Hospitality. She was very attentive to my husband, whom is wheelchair bound, and she did not discriminate against a Viet Nam Veteran like others did. He is highly decorated with 2 Purple Hearts and a Bronze star.....that and 3 bucks will get you a cup of coffee sometimes! BUT she was always quick to open doors, hold a wheelchair in place and aid with trying to get him in to see a house also if it was possible. AND I thank her from the bottom of my heart for those simple actions that other people fail to consider. She found my husband's dream home and made sure he got it! Even to the point of their agency and the listing agency agreeing to drill a new well when the current one failed..(and the owner would not)..so I also have to thank her agency and the Washburn Agency for this! She put up with my fast speech and my ADHD and my rants when things went wrong and was full of joy with us when things went right. We went through a total of 3 contracts by the time we found and finally closed the home we purchased,,,because of things we could not control...black mold in the basement of one, an owner that could not flex on price but then could not seem to accept full price?? Poor Sherry must have thought she found the couple with the worst luck,,,it took a long time due to all of this..but Sherry always calmed us down and got working with us again and she knew we were determined to buy as we had a house with a mold issue we're living in and HAD to get out! I swore she was wearing a "halo" to get us through all of this,,many realtors would have quit on us! I can tell you if she added up all her emails and phone calls to us....she would be shocked and I'm so happy we were able to get the BEST house of all closed! It would not have happened without her help. She kept us updated, she always had our back,,she gave us ideas and let us know how much time to make our decisions. She would never leave us hanging on any issues. Any questions,,if she did not know the answer,,she would get together with the listing agent and we would get quick answers. Sherry has a great sense of humor, she is very knowledgeable, caring for her clients, and out to get your deal done for you and HONEST!! So please hire her for your next house viewing and I think you'll be pleased! Thanks Sherry...we appreciate all you did for us...above and beyond!!
