Bernadette has sold my two properties last year. I am happy with the outcomes and the services she provided. Her going-beyond attitude make her stand out from the other agents in town. Once, she was checking the condition of house for showing and found a spot needed attention. She worked on the issue right away to make showing condition as best it could be. This was beyond my expectation. She truly has a great network of experts around house. That helped me to make timely decision on repair works for sale. Based on the service I received and professionalism she showed over multiple years, I strongly recommend Bernadette as your real estate agent for selling, buying or property management. - Boaz
She is fun to work with and has a great sense of humour which really made our home-buying experience fun! Not only was it enjoyable, but working with Bernadette really proves her knowledge of the real-estate market. I have recommended her as an agent to my family and close friends and will keep on spreading the good word! - Joyce

Bernadette offered great staging advice to help get our home 'market ready'. Our experience was very smooth. The home only sat on the market for 5 days before being scooped up. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thanks again, Bernadette. - Corey

My boyfriend and I used Bernadette as a real estate agent, and were very unsatisfied with the situation both from her and the Brokerage. Up until the point that we put in an offer on a house, she was great. Easy to talk to, work with and prompt. We found an ideal house for us, and we put in an offer. During the negotiation process, we felt pressured to put in an offer higher than we were comfortable with, but we are young and first time home buyers so we trusted her.
After the offer was accepted was where it went sour. Bernadette was unhappy with our choices in home and septic inspectors, pushing for us to use hers. We used the well inspector she offered because there aren't many others around. During the inspection process, she proceeded to call our home inspector an "Alarmist" for pointing out key factors that were wrong with the house. As well, during the process she would disregard my boyfriend's opinions on the items mentioned. He is experienced in foundation repairs and general home repairs, but felt disrespected by Bernadette. We decided to not purchase the house, as it had 3 big ticket items requiring repair, We were uncomfortable using Bernadette as a real estate agent any farther, and we told her so. She said she was "thrown off-guard" and needed to think about it,
Instead of understanding where we were coming from, she felt our reasons were invalid and would not terminate the buyers agreement. We then had to seek help from a friend of the family to send a letter to the broker manager asking for us to have the buyers agreement terminated. The broker manager was unreasonable, and decided to believe we had bought a home and kept us in the contract. For what reason, we have no idea. We then reached out to the president, asking for some help above both the manager and the agent. He obviously felt his employees were in the right and felt like he was being generous in giving us 4 options rather than just simply honoring our reasonable wish of being released from the contract. All options were not fair to us or understanding of the situation. So, we have waited out this contract to the bitter end as we felt it was the only option.
During this process, we were discussing the situation with a lawyer, and not once has he heard of this happening, nor should it ever happen. As well, other agents and friends we have talked to cannot believe this was allowed to happen. We feel we had to share this information for other prospective buyers considering using her as an agent, or using this brokerage any further. This situation has taught us a large amount about using real estate agents, and how trust the right ones. We were essentially unable to buy a house during when the housing market was most active, and we missed out on buying homes during this period.

Reply: Stephanie & Andrew, I'm sorry you feel this way and felt the need to make this post. A few quick points I'd like to make - 1. The minute you told me you had decided you did not want the house I got the agreement termination paperwork to you right away. 2. At the time of your offer we entered into a competing offer situation and I took a step back informing you, as I do all my buyers in multiple offers, that you have to put your best offer forward but make sure you are happy to both win and lose at that number. 3. Loved your septic inspector, as I told you, but I did find your home inspector a bit of an alarmist. Andrew, you and your father seemed to both agree as you also made many similar comments yourselves during the home inspection regarding small/simple repair items. I also commented that he was very thorough, which was great. 4. I was your 3rd or 4th agent you were working with in less than a year so maybe you had some preconceived opinions about realtors before we even met as you had negative stories of all of them too. 5. I was more than willing to assist you at any point during the duration of the contract so you need not miss out on any homes for sale. No disrespect was ever intended, which I am once again sorry you feel that way. -Bernadette
Didn't tell me about a showing until they were at the door and I was in the middle of making bread. Oops was her only excuse/apology. Refused to leave it listed over the winter when many houses sold. Wants to list it at the price I bought it at, discounting all the renovations and major improvements I made. SHE JUST WANTS HER COMMISSION. She did NO MARKETING OF THE HOUSE AT ALL. - Gale
Reply: I'm sorry you feel that way Gale. That story about the bread is what you told me happened with your previous realtor - not me (maybe you just got us confused). I discounted my commission trying to help you out of a bad situation - too bad you didn't appreciate that. Again I'm sorry you feel I didn't do enough for your listing. Best of Luck. Bernadette
Bernadette was very professional. She explained everything as we went along which was very helpful, as we were first time home buyers. She was able to negotiate for the house we wanted, in the location we wanted within our budget. Working with Bernadette was a very pleasant experience. I would recommend her to a friend. - Courtenay Irvine
