I recently had a highly unsatisfactory experience with Christophor Hurst while attempting to rent a unit at 55 Ellington Ave w. unit 1708. I was initially excited about the prospect of finding a new home for my fiancé, but my encounter with Mr. Hurst left a bitter taste in my mouth. Firstly, I made it explicitly clear to Mr. Hurst that I did not want my name on the lease. However, to my surprise, he insisted on conducting a criminal background check on me. Reluctantly, I authorized the background check, assuming that he would adhere to my request. However, what followed was a flagrant violation of my trust. Mr. Hurst went ahead and ran a hard credit check on me without my consent, which is completely unacceptable. This unauthorized credit check will undoubtedly have a negative impact on my credit score, a consequence that I did not deserve nor anticipate. Furthermore, Mr. Hurst's behavior throughout the process was anything but friendly and helpful. He showed a complete lack of professionalism by engaging in sneaky tactics to gain access to my credit information. As a real estate agent, one would expect him to prioritize the best interests and concerns of his clients. Unfortunately, Mr. Hurst failed to do so and instead displayed a disregard for basic ethical standards. Based on my experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend Christophor Hurst as a real estate agent. His untrustworthy actions and lack of customer service make him an individual who should not be entrusted with such important matters. I urge others to exercise caution when considering his services, as he has proven himself to be unscrupulous and unprofessional. - Robby Khoutsaysana
Reply: I had no contact with Robby. I did meet your fiance and her agent. With all due respect I was representing my landlord client and not the tenant. I had made it clear that if two adults were moving into the property together we would want both on the lease and not one as an occupant. Thankfully I have my communication trail on my phone to show that I had to follow up with your finance's agent to request your personal information so that I could do the "background checks" and I was provided with the information to proceed. After having completed our review we decided not to proceed. I was acting in the best interest of my landlord client and unfortunately we had to decline your finace's offer to lease. I am sorry you feel the way you do but there was no way I was going to finalize a lease without doing my diligence. I do wish you all the best with your finace's search for a lease for both of you.
